Austrian born Martin Bém founded Ponte & Partners in 2003 and became the exclusive representative of the Paulaner Brewery in the Asia-Pacific area. He holds a PhD in economics and a Master’s in Trade Science/Marketing from the University of Vienna and was previously the Director Asia for Sanpellegrino/Nestlè. He has 19 years of experience in international sales and with premium FMCG brands in 30 markets on 3 continents.
In 2006, he further conceptualized and co-founded a successful contemporary German restaurant & bar, Brotzeit, which he grew to 3 outlets in Singapore and ran for four years.
In 2010, Martin Bém conceptualized and founded LeVeL33, an experiential urban dining experience with the world’s highest urban craft brewery in Singapore’s Marina Bay.
In 2011, he setup and opened a German restaurant cum micro-brewery in Guangzhou/China under the Paulaner Brauhas Franchise.
Furthermore, Martin Bém conceived the concept of ERWIN’S Gastrobar, which he opened in 2012 in the heart of Singapore’s financial district. With 2 outlets in Singapore and a franchise in Manila, Philippines to date, the concept has proven to be an international success.
Also conceptualized and founded by Martin Bém, Kaiserhaus, recently opened in 2015 at the iconic Capitol Theatre in Singapore, is a unique and unprecedented restaurant, café and bar featuring Central European cuisine inspired by the Habsburg Empire in the 19th century.
